In Exodus 12, the Hebrew slaves were passed over, not because of who they knew (Moses) or who they were (Hebrew people), they were passed over because of where they were. They were beneath the blood of the Lamb.
And don’t we need a safe place like that today? The Death Angel still passes. We still read obituaries in the paper. Funeral Homes still sell caskets. We still have the Death Angel who comes and he takes us.
And we still are slaves. Slaves to our sins. Slaves to our mistakes. Slaves to our past. Slaves to our jobs. Slaves to bad habits. And we still find ourselves in Egypt. Out of sorts. Out of place. Away from home! We need a safe place! And for us God provides one. He provides one. Yet for us, the haven is not a place in Egypt, but a person. A person in the form of Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God.

So well said Shane. AMEN! Thanks!
